Show Notes

Cloud 9fin Katharine Hidalgo sits down with Managing Director and EMEA Head of Debt Advisory, Tim Metzgen and Senior Director, Thomas Paterson to discuss their expectations for 2023 and give some insight into how borrowers are managing a more challenging environment and what lenders are demanding.

With credit committees hearing new investment stories and assessing workouts, borrowers are being put through their paces. They should expect diligence a lot earlier in the process and need more prep to get the story right.

Tim and Tom go on to discuss how different sectors have fared post Covid. Consumer-facing businesses have fallen out of favour while tech, healthcare and business services continue to prove a magnet for new capital.

The discussion then takes a look at whether the era of loose docs is over and the challenges around liquidity. With a much more diverse debt market, can borrowers tap into these different pockets of capital?
